Conceptualized by fused kiln glass pioneer, Klaus Moje and furthered by glass artist, Steve Immerman, strip construction is an amazing technique used by beginners & experts alike, to infuse color, pattern & design into amazing, evocative work.  This class, suitable for beginners, will start on Thursday evening, April 16th with glass strip-cutting techniques & color/design theory and then by 4:00 on Saturday, each student will build a 10″ x 10″ strip plate using class teachings.  The pieces will be fired & slumped by the instructor.  Students may arrange to cold work, sandblast & otherwise refine their pieces after firing.  This class is suitable for beginners.

Lining & using molds & dams
Pattern & design considerations (scale, color, pattern)
Borders, windows, central design elements (pattern bars, rod & screen melts)
Reactive glasses
Firing & slumping
Cold-working
